RMSC Wayfinding

The Rochester Museum and Science Center commissioned a complete re-design of their wayfinding sign system for the Strasenburgh Planetarium.

The existing signage was very old, out-dated and confusing, especially since their target audience is small school children.

You'll find that many of the signs were also not ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliant, which means accessibility wasn't up to par. The main goals of these designs were to make the facility more accessible, make it easier to navigate the building, and to create a platform where anyone can make changes as needed in the future.

Keep in mind that many of the design elements you see here were heavily influenced by the ADA requirements for wayfinding signs and sign systems.
